On February 11, 2010, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wang Guangya held talks with Brazilian Deputy Foreign Minister Antonio Patriota, exchanging in-depth views on bilateral ties as well as international issues of common concern. Wang made positive comments on the important progress made in bilateral ties in recent years as well as the sound cooperation between both sides in multilateral areas, pointing out that both China and Brazil are important emerging powers and their relations are of strategic and global significance. Amid the ongoing profound, complex changes of the international situation, China is ready to work with Brazil to seize the historical opportunity and push forward bilateral strategic partnership.
Echoing Wang’s comments, Patriota emphasized that the Brazilian government attaches great importance to ties with China and is ready to work with it to further enhance mutual political trust, improve cooperation mechanisms, deepen pragmatic cooperation and strengthen coordination in major global issues so as to enrich bilateral strategic partnership and better preserve common interests of the two countries and other developing nations. |
