On August 13, 2010, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held talks with Ricardo Armando Patino Aroca, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Integration of Ecuador, in Beijing. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on bilateral ties as well as international and regional issues of common concern.
Yang said that China-Ecuador relations have entered a new phase of comprehensive and rapid development in recent years. Both sides have maintained close high-level exchanges, yielded fruitful results in pragmatic cooperation in all areas and kept sound coordination and cooperation in international affairs. The development of bilateral ties enjoys broad prospect. China is ready to work with Ecuador to continuously expand bilateral exchanges and cooperation on politics, economy, trade and humanities, deepen pragmatic cooperation and push bilateral ties for sustained and in-depth development. Patino Aroca said the Ecuadorian government attaches importance to developing ties with China from a strategic perspective and will continue to firmly adhere to the one-China policy. The Ecuadorian side is ready to do its utmost to continuously enhance political trust between both countries, enrich the exchange and cooperation mechanisms at all levels and expand cooperation in all areas in a bid to push bilateral friendly cooperative relations to a new level. |
